It was the same for Ward 3! I could not bear to think that there was no qualified candidate and to simply walk in and take the position. BS! I had to Run......We need to take responsibility of who we hire to manage our tax money!!!!!
Nominations for the October municipal election closed at 2 p.m. last Friday and the official list of certified candidates shows that local electors will have a slew of choices in front of them. However, there will be no choice for mayor or Ward 4 councillor. That is because Mayor Dave Barton is acclaimed, since no one has chosen to run against him, and Willie Popp is similarly acclaimed in Ward 4.
